Event Design - National Sign Corporation 100th Anniversary

We had the absolute pleasure of helping a Seattle local business celebrate their 100th anniversary and I could not have been more proud of their work and the party!! How many companies can say that and still family run and owned? We threw the party right in their shop which was a task to go from a functioning neon sign and metal shop to hosting a sit down dinner with entertainment for 200 guests!

This business is rooted in Seattle’s past and we showcased that by filling the room with their signs, treating them like and art gallery. The signs were flanked against white pipe and drape that outlined the room. White tables with groups of white candles we collected filled the room. Each table had a custom centerpiece made from a repurposed letter from an old signs; the letters were filled with a variety of white flowers, stuffed with white crinkle paper and then topped with white sugar cubes for extra quirk! We created a stage from a table used in the workshop and hired a piano player and his grand piano to set the tone, directly above we hung a wonderful old “Crown” neon sign that been restored, it lit up the whole room! Focusing on their past and concentrating on things that we could repurpose from their shop we created an experience that was uniquely theirs which included: custom table tops made from signs, on the landing of stairwell a collaged sign of different types and fonts read sign, antique and vintage pictures of past signs and even their 50th anniversary were hung about.  A neon demo entrained and educated guests on their business while a slide show just how many landmarks they created for our city. A week before the party a new neon sign was hung on the building to show that even though they are 100 years old they are ever changing and evolving; it was covered with a sign that said “wait until May 14th” and was to be reveled during the party! The sign matched the custom ice sculpture on the bar made of repurposed signs as well. This party and family was so fun to work with, we truly utilized their collection, elaborated on their ideas and tipped our hats to their past and future!
